Exercise is good for the body and the brain, but few children get enough of it. Health guidelines recommend kids complete at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day.
KidzToPros Park Pods are designed to keep children active and engaged after the school day ends. Park Pods meet at your neighborhood parks and fields for afternoons filled with physical activity and play.
Up to 8 kids will work with a passionate and highly-trained coach to compete in various activities and sports, including basketball, soccer, flag football, street hockey, and kickball.
Park Pod students will learn the fundamentals of the different sports, but will also take away lessons in leadership, teamwork, perseverance and good sportsmanship.
Exercise helps children excel in school and in life. Studies show that physical activity:
- Improves mental health
- Sharpens cognitive skills
- Reduces the risk of chronic health problems, including heart disease, diabetes, and obesity
- Builds self-esteem
Daily ScheduleThe schedule for each Park Pod is personalized based on the needs, interests and physical ability of each child. Activities will vary by day, depending on weather and other factors, and they can be adjusted as kids build endurance.
Pod CurriculumThe Park Pod coach will assess the abilities and interests of each student in the pod to create activities that students will love. Each day will include free play, technical drills and plenty of friendly competition. In addition to the physical skills, Park Pod students will learn how to be a good teammate and problem-solver.
Pod Safety and HealthKidzToPros’ top priority is ensuring the health and safety of all students, staff and families involved with Park Pods. As pods meet in neighborhood parks, kids will have plenty of space to spread out and lots of fresh air to breath. Still, KidzToPros will monitor county guidelines and ensure all students, staff and families agree to take appropriate measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Safety measures will include daily temperature checks, social distancing, correct wearing of masks, frequent hand washing.
